Attention, into ownership.
A protocol that converts verified screen time into fractional tokenized equity of the companies that earn that attention.
The problem
The attention economy is a one-way transfer. Meta, Alphabet, Netflix, and their peers monetize billions of hours of human attention every day. The supplier of that attention — the user — is paid in product, never in ownership. There is no instrument that lets an ordinary person turn "I watched four hours of YouTube" into a stake in the company that profited from it. Tokenized equity on Robinhood Chain makes that instrument possible for the first time.
The mechanism
TimeStock is an application of a single primitive: proof of a verifiable action, redeemed for tokenized equity. The action here is measured attention.
Submission
A user submits their last 24 hours of screen time, measured in GMT (one submission per GMT day) — a screenshot of iOS Screen Time or Android Digital Wellbeing. TimeStock reads the top apps and hours.
Mapping
Each app is mapped to the public parent company whose tokenized stock trades on Robinhood Chain. Apps without a supported stock mapping do not earn. The NVDA entry is a compute proxy for the listed AI apps.
| App | Stock |
|---|---|
| Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads, Facebook | META |
| YouTube, Chrome, Google, Maps | GOOGL |
| Safari, iPhone system, App Store | AAPL |
| Netflix | NFLX |
| Snapchat | SNAP |
| RDDT | |
| Amazon, Prime Video | AMZN |
| Xbox, Office, Copilot | MSFT |
| ChatGPT, Claude (AI compute proxy) | NVDA |
Valuation & payout
Attention is valued in dollars, split across the user's apps by hours, and paid in each app's tokenized stock from a non-custodial vault.
reward(stock) = attention_value × (hours_in_app / total_hours)
The $TIME token & hybrid gate
$TIME is the native token. Fixed supply: 1,000,000,000. Its utility is the claim gate: to redeem screen-time rewards, a user holds or stakes $TIME.
- Gate. A user must hold or stake at least $5 of $TIME in combined value to claim, before the staking multiplier is applied.
- Hold is accessible. Holding requires no lock — a low-friction on-ramp.
- Stake counts 2× toward power. Staked $TIME is locked, reducing sell pressure, and is therefore weighted double toward claim power.
- Capacity. A user's monthly claim ceiling scales with power. Screen-time earnings above capacity do not pay.
This is a deliberate departure from flat percentage tiers. It borrows the stake-for-access model proven by capacity markets, while keeping a hold path so casual users are never locked out.
Economic loop
The design creates continuous, non-speculative demand for $TIME: every user who wants to claim must first hold or stake it. The reward vault is funded by protocol revenue converted into tokenized stock, mirroring proven creator-fee-into-equity loops on Robinhood Chain. Attention flows in; stock flows out; $TIME sits between them as the key.
Verification & anti-abuse
Screenshots are an on-ramp, not the trust anchor. Because an image can be edited, exposure is bounded and hardened:
- Per-app hours are capped per day; total monthly payout is capped at capacity — worst-case loss is bounded, never unlimited.
- Duplicate-image detection, layout/template checks, and one account per person.
- Larger claims require source verification — reading usage directly from the platform account via read-only OAuth or a zero-knowledge proof, disclosing only that the app was used.
- The vault is non-custodial with on-chain proof of reserves; funds move only against a signed voucher.
Privacy
TimeStock reads only the apps and hours a user submits. It does not sell data. Source-verified paths use zero-knowledge or read-only access and reveal only the single fact required to compute a reward.
Roadmap
- Phase 1. Screenshot submission (iOS + Android), core app-to-stock coverage, hold/stake gate, non-custodial claims.
- Phase 2. Source verification (OAuth for YouTube/Google; zero-knowledge for closed platforms) for larger, hardened rewards.
- Phase 3. Expanded coverage as more tokenized stocks list, plus a public leaderboard of time-into-ownership.
